If you are planning to travel on a day tour between Sarajevo and Dubrovnik/Split/Kotor via Mostar and Herzegovina, and are interested to do it on the most amazing way possible, avoiding bus/plane or driving yourself, then our Total Herzegovina Tour is the best and most convenient way to do it.
This is a connecting door to door day tour which covers 6 most amazing destinations in Herzegovina including Mostar, Blagaj, Počitelj, Kravice Waterfalls, Konjic and Jablanica. You can start either in Sarajevo and end in Dubrovnik / Kotor / Split or the other way around. Regardless of your start/end destination, we always do the full itinerary.
As mentioned, tour can go from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik or opposite way. This particular itinerary we will focus on direction from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik.
This is door to door connecting tour, meaning we pick you up with your luggage, and drop you off at your address.
Daily at 8 AM from Sarajevo and Dubrovnik. (Definite departures from 1st of June until 31st of October)
In the morning, bit before 8 AM we are picking you up at your address and we are good to start. Meet your guide, hop aboard your tour vehicle, and set off on the journey to Konjic.
Morning ride will take us through interesting suburbs of Sarajevo and areas of central Bosnia until we pass Ivan mountain and enter Herzegovina region. As soon as in Herzegovina, we’ll start descending, as region of Herzegovina is generally on lower altitudes and is totally different climate, so you’ll notice dramatic natural environment change.
First stop of the day is short visit to old part of Konjic town. Unique, prehistorically inhabited, famous for 17th century 6-arch Old Bridge, looming over turquoise Neretva river, usually very sunny place, is day’s perfect start. Standing at WW2’s last day, during the Nazi withdrawal, destroyed bridge, we learn the story of the “monument to human stupidity”, mystery of Tito’s Bunker, famousness of white water rafting at upper Neretva region and glacier Boracko Lake, and few other stories before we continue our way.
Ride continues by passing large, dammed but very beautiful Jablaničko lake, with short stop at Jablanica where we learn WW2 story of “Neretva Battle” and “sniff” into the way how our greatest delicacy, famous roasted lamb on the spit is made.
Views of Jablaničko lake and regions of Prenj mountain are simply breathtaking and will make you wanna stop and breathe those in.
Then we continue through some really amazing parts of Neretva river canyon, telling the unique stories of Herzegovina, before we arrive to our second and most important stop of the day – Mostar.
As soon as we arrive to Mostar we’ll start our 2 hour walking tour which will cover most important sites and locations in Mostar.
Our focus will Mostar’s Old Bridge, Old Bazaar and Old Town, but offer stories of Mostar’s uniqueness, in regard to historical and cultural diversity.
Story of Mostar will be about the Bridge, it’s rise and fall, and how it had risen again. You will learn about Siege of Mostar, about why it is called Mostar, about “Mostarians”. We recreate Mostar for you and with you.
In Mostar, if preferred, we give our guests free time to explore on their own as we simply do not like to “hold a candle all the way”.
With Mostar fully explored, we keep going towards Dubrovnik – Kotor, but soon after short ride, next stop is Blagaj.
Blagaj town is home to Buna river spring – Europe’s most beautiful, most powerful, clean and drinkable karst river spring, settled beneath few hundred meters high rock. Water comes out of quite large but stunningly deep cave, which springs amazing 43 cubic meters of water per second. Can you imagine this?
Just next to the spring, under the rock, is home to Blagaj Tekke – Dervish house, dating most likely pre or early Ottoman era from early 16th century, as unique sacral-residential example of Islamic architecture in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Visiting this complex and learning more about Dervish life in Herzegovina as important part of our history is, MUST DO.
For Muslim travelers “Tekija” is place where prayers are hosted 5 times a day and can be attended if wanted.
Later, after visit to “Blagajska Tekija” and “Izvor rijeke Bune” before we continue to our ride to Dubrovnik, it is time for lunch. Due to famousness and cleanliness of Buna river the most important thing to taste in Blagaj today, is local trout. Lunch is not included in the tour price, so plan to spend 8/10 EUR per person for great lunch. As mentioned earlier, depending on the tour pace, lunch is planned in Blagaj or alternatively, in Mostar.
That is why we don’t leave the place before we offer our guests to try locally prepared trout on “Blagaj Way”, enjoying amazing scenery of Buna river spring and Dervish house next to it. Vegetarians don’t worry, we have solutions for you as well 🙂
As soon as stomach is full and we got deserved rest we continue towards Dubrovnik where our next stop – Počitelj.
Stunningly nested above Neretva river, visit to Počitelj (“Počivati” – Bos.”to rest in peace”), easy uphill, one hour long walking activity, accompanied with a stories of town’s development and strategic importance during its 600+ year long written history and visit to most important sites such as Hajji Alija Mosque, Clock Tower and Gavrankapetanović tower, IS A MUST, for anyone passing through or near Herzegovina region.
Unique, medieval, Ottoman era glorified, present day Ottoman-Mediterranean style “architectured” fortress – town Počitelj, is one of the very few urban ensembles in Bosnia and Herzegovina preserved in their integrity to the present times.
When Počitelj explorations are done, we are not too far away from Dubrovnik and there is one more stop to go. Get ready for highlight of the day, small Niagara’s, stunning waterfalls of Kravica.
Situated near Ljubuški, Trebižat river with its travertine sedimentations is today offering us unique and breathtaking attraction – Kravica waterfalls. Height range from 26-28 meters and water amphitheater of 120 meters below, plus surrounding nature of Kravica waterfalls altogether fall into unique geological monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
If you are conducting this tour in summer time (between June – September) feel free to bring along swimsuit and join us for some chilling swim, or at least to cool your feet along a good drink.
Kravica falls are usually our last stop on our Sarajevo to Dubrovnik via Mostar and Herzegovina tour. We’ll have another 2 hours of driving before we reach Dubrovnik where we usually arrive around 8 pm, unless you prefer to be there earlier.
In case you prefer to experience Herzegovina in more relaxed way, to double up amount of amazing locations this region has to offer, we recommend you to consider our 2 Day package from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik / Split / Kotor with overnight in Mostar, called Herzegovina Journey.
If you are fan of relaxed, easy and adjusted to anyone kind of kayaking, Trebižat river is the best out there. If you can spare 5/6 hours more in Herzegovina or one more night, this is an amazing experience.
If you are travelling from Sarajevo to Mostar without intention to come back to Sarajevo, this tour is ideal way to replace bus and explore places in between and in the end of the day being dropped off at your address in Mostar without extra costs apart the tour itself.

Fantastic Tour from Sarajevo to Kotor, Montenegro
We had a fantastic, safe and well paced all day tour from Sarajevo to Kotor, Montenegro. Our tour guide and driver were fantastic, with lots of insight into what we were seeing. It was a super convenient and interesting way to get from Sarajevo to Kotor. The office end of Funky Tours is also great – communication was easy. I changed our dates about three times and they accommodated my changes easily. I highly recommend this company and their tours. (WE also took the half-day Sarajevo War Tunner tour, which was interesting and informative. A fantastic tour!)
Ema helped us plan 4 great tours
Ema from Sarajevo Funky Tours is a master at planning tours tailored to your interests and time. My wife and I did the Belgrade to Sarajevo tour with Saudin, the Siege tour with Adnan, the Lukomir mountain tour with Ado, and the Sarajevo to Mostar to Dubrovnik with Arna. All of our guides were very accommodating, informative, and just fun to be with. All of the private tours provided flexibility so that we could where our time was spent. We loved Bosnia and I think that much of the reason for us being taken by the country was because of the well-planned tours and the gregarious, energetic, and guides dedicated to their clients.
Excellent guide and driver
Our guide is Arna and our driver is a young man called Faris. Both are very friendly and kind. Arna explained very well the events and places and led us to wonderful spots for good photos and our lunch stop at Blagaj was excellent with tasty red trout, risotto rice and bread etc. It is situated beside the Buna River. The spring water here was good and cool to taste.
They picked us from Hotel VIP and Arna kindly offered to let both of us sit in front with Faris while she sat at the back. We could hear her from the front as she spoke very clearly. We made many stops along the way according to the itinerary and they allowed us to experience the beauty of BiH. Despite the very hot weather, we did enjoy the uniqueness of each place. This tour is highly recommended as it serves as a transfer cum sightseeing tour. This tour was made more enjoyable in the great company of Arna and Faris-two nicest persons I met.
Absolutely fantastic experience that I would recommend to everyone travelling the Balkans, but especially beautiful Bosnia and Herzegovina! My family of four and I booked the one way Sarajevo to Dubrovnik tour via Konjic, Jablanica, Mostar, Blagay temple, Počitelj and Kravice falls. Our guides Adnan and Damir were amongst the most accommodating, open, knowledgable, hilarious and kind hearted people that we’ve ever come across. We spent the entire day laughing and being in absolute awe of the places we visited and stories we heard about the often tragic history of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was a perfect experience and we have all fallen in love with this country and its people. It was difficult to say goodbye to Adnan and Damir at the end of the day but I know that we will return and meet again for some salep in Sarajevo 🙂 Long live the land of ćevapi, lepinja, rakija and veggie fish 😉 All the best, from the Crozzies xx
Fantastic Customer Service!
I am so thankful for not only my tour, but also the help I got from Sarajevo Funky Tours. Multiple people from the company helped me when TripAdvisor messed up a tour for me. The company worked to help get me on another Transfer tour from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik and I am so grateful. The tour itself was fun, enjoyable and beautiful. I had a fantastic guide, Amela, who was very knowledgeable and sweet! This is a fantastic company!
