If you are planning to travel on a day tour between Sarajevo and Dubrovnik/Split/Kotor via Mostar and Herzegovina, and are interested to do it on the most amazing way possible, avoiding bus/plane or driving yourself, then our Total Herzegovina Tour is the best and most convenient way to do it.
This is a connecting door to door day tour which covers 6 most amazing destinations in Herzegovina including Mostar, Blagaj, Počitelj, Kravice Waterfalls, Konjic and Jablanica. You can start either in Sarajevo and end in Dubrovnik / Kotor / Split or the other way around. Regardless of your start/end destination, we always do the full itinerary.
As mentioned, tour can go from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik or opposite way. This particular itinerary we will focus on direction from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik.
This is door to door connecting tour, meaning we pick you up with your luggage, and drop you off at your address.
Daily at 8 AM from Sarajevo and Dubrovnik. Definite Departures.
In the morning, bit before 8 AM we are picking you up at your address and we are good to start. Meet your guide, hop aboard your tour vehicle, and set off on the journey to Konjic.
Morning ride will take us through interesting suburbs of Sarajevo and areas of central Bosnia until we pass Ivan mountain and enter Herzegovina region. As soon as in Herzegovina, we’ll start descending, as region of Herzegovina is generally on lower altitudes and is totally different climate, so you’ll notice dramatic natural environment change.
First stop of the day is short visit to old part of Konjic town. Unique, prehistorically inhabited, famous for 17th century 6-arch Old Bridge, looming over turquoise Neretva river, usually very sunny place, is day’s perfect start. Standing at WW2’s last day, during the Nazi withdrawal, destroyed bridge, we learn the story of the “monument to human stupidity”, mystery of Tito’s Bunker, famousness of white water rafting at upper Neretva region and glacier Boracko Lake, and few other stories before we continue our way.
Ride continues by passing large, dammed but very beautiful Jablaničko lake, with short stop at Jablanica where we learn WW2 story of “Neretva Battle” and “sniff” into the way how our greatest delicacy, famous roasted lamb on the spit is made.
Views of Jablaničko lake and regions of Prenj mountain are simply breathtaking and will make you wanna stop and breathe those in.
Then we continue through some really amazing parts of Neretva river canyon, telling the unique stories of Herzegovina, before we arrive to our second and most important stop of the day – Mostar.
As soon as we arrive to Mostar we’ll start our 2 hour walking tour which will cover most important sites and locations in Mostar.
Our focus will Mostar’s Old Bridge, Old Bazaar and Old Town, but offer stories of Mostar’s uniqueness, in regard to historical and cultural diversity.
Story of Mostar will be about the Bridge, it’s rise and fall, and how it had risen again. You will learn about Siege of Mostar, about why it is called Mostar, about “Mostarians”. We recreate Mostar for you and with you.
In Mostar, if preferred, we give our guests free time to explore on their own as we simply do not like to “hold a candle all the way”.
With Mostar fully explored, we keep going towards Dubrovnik – Kotor, but soon after short ride, next stop is Blagaj.
Blagaj town is home to Buna river spring – Europe’s most beautiful, most powerful, clean and drinkable karst river spring, settled beneath few hundred meters high rock. Water comes out of quite large but stunningly deep cave, which springs amazing 43 cubic meters of water per second. Can you imagine this?
Just next to the spring, under the rock, is home to Blagaj Tekke – Dervish house, dating most likely pre or early Ottoman era from early 16th century, as unique sacral-residential example of Islamic architecture in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Visiting this complex and learning more about Dervish life in Herzegovina as important part of our history is, MUST DO.
For Muslim travelers “Tekija” is place where prayers are hosted 5 times a day and can be attended if wanted.
Later, after visit to “Blagajska Tekija” and “Izvor rijeke Bune” before we continue to our ride to Dubrovnik, it is time for lunch. Due to famousness and cleanliness of Buna river the most important thing to taste in Blagaj today, is local trout. Lunch is not included in the tour price, so plan to spend 8/10 EUR per person for great lunch. As mentioned earlier, depending on the tour pace, lunch is planned in Blagaj or alternatively, in Mostar.
That is why we don’t leave the place before we offer our guests to try locally prepared trout on “Blagaj Way”, enjoying amazing scenery of Buna river spring and Dervish house next to it. Vegetarians don’t worry, we have solutions for you as well 🙂
As soon as stomach is full and we got deserved rest we continue towards Dubrovnik where our next stop – Počitelj.
Stunningly nested above Neretva river, visit to Počitelj (“Počivati” – Bos.”to rest in peace”), easy uphill, one hour long walking activity, accompanied with a stories of town’s development and strategic importance during its 600+ year long written history and visit to most important sites such as Hajji Alija Mosque, Clock Tower and Gavrankapetanović tower, IS A MUST, for anyone passing through or near Herzegovina region.
Unique, medieval, Ottoman era glorified, present day Ottoman-Mediterranean style “architectured” fortress – town Počitelj, is one of the very few urban ensembles in Bosnia and Herzegovina preserved in their integrity to the present times.
When Počitelj explorations are done, we are not too far away from Dubrovnik and there is one more stop to go. Get ready for highlight of the day, small Niagara’s, stunning waterfalls of Kravica.
Situated near Ljubuški, Trebižat river with its travertine sedimentations is today offering us unique and breathtaking attraction – Kravica waterfalls. Height range from 26-28 meters and water amphitheater of 120 meters below, plus surrounding nature of Kravica waterfalls altogether fall into unique geological monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
If you are conducting this tour in summer time (between June – September) feel free to bring along swimsuit and join us for some chilling swim, or at least to cool your feet along a good drink.
Kravica falls are usually our last stop on our Sarajevo to Dubrovnik via Mostar and Herzegovina tour. We’ll have another 2 hours of driving before we reach Dubrovnik where we usually arrive around 8 pm, unless you prefer to be there earlier.
In case you prefer to experience Herzegovina in more relaxed way, to double up amount of amazing locations this region has to offer, we recommend you to consider our 2 Day package from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik / Split / Kotor with overnight in Mostar, called Herzegovina Journey.
If you are fan of relaxed, easy and adjusted to anyone kind of kayaking, Trebižat river is the best out there. If you can spare 5/6 hours more in Herzegovina or one more night, this is an amazing experience.
If you are travelling from Sarajevo to Mostar without intention to come back to Sarajevo, this tour is ideal way to replace bus and explore places in between and in the end of the day being dropped off at your address in Mostar without extra costs apart the tour itself.

Our tour was fantastic and we had the best guides (Soud and Almid), they were very kind and explained to us all historical details.
I truly recommend this tour.
This tour was amazing.
Saud and Almid were THE BEST tour guides and drivers ever. They are super knowledgeable, attentive to detail, funny and caring, making sure you have the best experience and leave wanting to come back to Sarajevo. They tell you everything you need to know and this tour is completely a must!!!
SARAJEVO FUNKY TOURS IS TRULY AWESOME!
My sister and I spent four days in Sarajevo and prior to leaving had booked 4 tours with them. We did the Transfer Day Trip from Dubrovnik, Croatia to Sarajevo, Utopia of Tito’s Yugoslavia Siege of Sarajevo full day tour, Lukomir Nomadic Village Hiking Day, and Transfer and Day Tour from Sarajevo to Belgrade, Serbia.
Every tour was just incredible. From the moment of booking Ema reaching out and confirming and organizing your trips with fantastic communication right down to the very on time pick ups by the guides.
The Guides and drivers we had… Adnan, Dimir, Arna, Elvira, and Faris were all people I wont ever forget and I truly hope to see again! The best guides I have had on any day tour across the world. They were so personable and knowledgeable and hard working and all truly loved their jobs and made sure we saw everything on the itineraries.
My favorite day was the Utopia of Tito’s tour, hearing Arna’s personal families story during the siege brought tears to my eyes and was very touching.
Bosnia is an incredible country with beautiful and resilient people, beautiful landscapes and mountains, delicious food, and a fantastic culture.
Book your day tours now with Sarajevo funky tours it will be the best decision you will make!
We had an absolutely amazing day on this tour. We were the only people on the trip so were very lucky to have a private tour! Emina our guide was so knowledgeable so we learnt so much and she was super lovely, as was our driver Adjin. Every stop was great and we had a lovely lunch. The scenery was just fantastic along the way.
Sarajevo Funky Tours were so good with communication and we were transported door to door, so it was really easy. You really feel like you’ve done loads in one day. A fantastic way to travel between Sarajevo and Kotor/Dubrovnik!
We would highly recommend this trip 🙂
Amazing tour company
I can’t recommend this company highly enough!
It’s always a little bit nerve racking booking a large trip from another country, but the ladies in the office were all very kind, and responded to my (many) questions very quickly. Also thank you to Ema for booking us in to the most amazing historic hotel in Mostar!
We took three tours with Sarajevo Funky Tours in total (from Split to Sarajevo, the siege tour in Sarajevo and then from Sarajevo to Kotor via Mostar), and all three were fantastic. We had the lovely Ayub for the two longer trips, who took very good care of us. He was very knowledgeable about Bosnian history and made the trip fun for us so it felt more like we were traveling with a friend than a guide!
All of the tours were well organised, and we felt like we were able to see a lot of the country in a relatively short time. Bosnia and Herzegovina is a beautiful country and we only wish we could have stayed longer, but we’ll definitely be back! ❤️
