Straight from the airport we will head towards the famous Olympic Mt. Trebevic which will be your home for the next two nights. Depending on the time of your arrival, once you check-in your hotel, we can arrange some som activity such as paintball or cycling or just do some nice and easy walks and enjoying some fresh mt. air.
We will arrange local barbecue dinner for lunch where you will get to taste some of the famous grilled meat typical for Sarajevo.

After we have some tasty local breakfast, we will head towards stuning Paljanka – Miljacka River Spring. This is the most charming, absolutely off the beaten path spring which you have most likely ever visited. The place is perfect for taking some amazing photos and doing nice and easy (roughly 1h) walk through the forest.
For those braver ones, we highly recommend stepping into the cold but crystal clear water. You can do a short river trekking and admire numerous small waterfalls.
After we bless our eyes and souls with the spring, we will head towards the old town where you will learn about Sarajevo, from its past to its present. We are going to take you around the old town, let you soak in the atmosphere of the city fortified bt the old Ottoman and Austrogarian buildings. You will simply understand why Sarajevo is being called a European Jerusalem for decades and will learn a story of the besieged city by listening to personal experiences from locals.
Legend says: “Whoever drinks water from any Sarajevo’s fountains and spouts will return to this city again”
Finally, we will do our best to make you understand Sarajevo as being a small Utopia and a pure representative of coexistence and mutual acceptance. On the other hand, you will be absolutely amazed with how much of the absolutely intact nature can be found minutes away from the city centre.
For a perfect closure of the day we will prepare a home made dinner and host you in our Bosnian Room. With traditional Sevdah live music and small talks with locals, in private and safe ambience, you will have a chance to share the impressions so far and ask what ever the question you have in mind.

We will start a day after the breakfast and drive towards another Olympic beauty – Bjelasnica. Bjelasnica Mt. is a famous ski resort in Bosnia and Herzegovina and home to the two stunning villages – Umoljani and Lukomir. Umoljani and Lukomir villages are simply a must when in Bosnia and Herzegovina and will provide a marvellous insight to everything that symbolises a perfect harmony of the unique intact nature and small community of modest local people which will make sure to host you the best way there is. Once at Umoljani we will have a coffee or tea and enjoy conversation with local community learning more about their fascinating way of surviving the harsh mt. conditions.
When in Bosnia, learning about the nomad life while experiencing a once in a life time spectacular sceneries during a hike from Umoljani to Lukomir
Hiking from Umoljani to Lukomir is what our team highly recommends. It takes around 3h of hike towards the village of Lukomir and the sceneries you will witness along are simply spectacular. During this hike, you will undergo one way hike from Umoljani to Lukomir village via Cold Creek and edge of the stunning Rakitnica canyon. It will be around 7/8 km of hiking, almost without any altitude gains. It can be done by children with age as low as 5 or 6 years. Most importantly, you are in absolute safe hands. On the other hand, if you are more into biking option, or simply doing a car ride and stopping for some amazing photos, no worries we will take care of it.
We shall start our hike from village Umoljani but no worries if you are not into hiking. Despite being an easy level of hike, it is possible to take a car or bike ride towards the village Lukomir.
Once we arrive to Lukomir village we will meet our hosts, do the check in to a small guest house and have a refreshments. We will let you soak in the atmosphere for a while on your own and just before the time for a dinner, we will make sure you get a clear insight on how is the traditional Bosnian pie made. Moreover, we will be happy if you decide to try it by yourself. With a little help from the local specialists we have no doubt you will become an expert in Bosnian pie making.
Later in the evening, we will have a dinner and enjoy endless conversations intertwined with fresh mt. breeze.
Charming nomad village atmosphere, hospitable people, tasty home made food and fresh mt. air – nothing in the world beats this.
We will start a day early after breakfast and head towards charming town of Konjic. Konjic is a town which is a home to one of the best preserved Ottoman bridges in the country. We will do a short walk, take some nice photos and meet with the local craftsman which will take us into the world of traditional and uniquely preserved crafts. Konjic is a also home to the famous Tito’s bunker, nuclear shelter that was kept as a top secret all until 90s. Those of you who are interested learning more about Yugoslavia, we will easily arrange a visit to the place.
When in Konjic, having a real Bosnian coffee with a river view is a must.
After Konjic we will head towards Jablanicko Lake. Jablanicko Lake is a magically spacious artificial lake which stretches from Konjic to Jablanica on an area of 13 km², with a maximum depth of 80 meters. With its purity and spaciousness, but also with the nature that surrounds it, this lake became everything that symbolises enjoying any kind of water sport.
This is where we will set up our boat and give you a unique insight to all the small islets forming a labyrinth you will hardly want to leave from. We will have a picnic lunch at the lake and head towards Stolac.
If weather permits – swimming is absolutely a must and for all of you interested in recreational fishing – say no more. This lake is known as recreational fishing paradise and, with a little help from our award winning local fisherman you will have a chance to make a catch of your life.
A half an hour drive through suburbs of Herzegovina region will give a perfect insight to how people live here. We will drive next to endless vineyards and corn fields, plowed lands, and orchards. Locals selling their products are easily found on every single stop and corner so we will definitely threat our taste buds with some of the famous organically produced fruits and veggies. A plethora of locations is providing organic food haven, therefore, good enough reason to back to healthy gastronomic basics. Imagine you’re preparing the food in the afternoon, that you’ve just picked in the morning.

Once in Stolac, we will do the check in at famous Mehmedbasica House which became a national monument under the state protection. The house is organized and decorated in the style of the old Bosnian residential houses which definitely brings up the charm.
Afternoon walk in the old town of Stolac and learning about this small town unique on so many different ways that it is absolutely incredible it is, for years, being neglected.
Stolac will definitely blow your mind when it comes to cultural diversity. Symbolically, the first thing you will most likely notice when it comes to Stolac is the amount of small bridges and numerous charming stories behind each one of them. The town holds the epithet of a miniature representation of the Bosnian nature. Within the urban town limits, you’ll be able to witness a credible trail of four religions.
We will have a famous local throat for dinner.
Mehmedbasica House is a perfect epitomise of traditional architecture of Bosnian residentals houses.
Tasty local breakfast made by our hosts will definitely be a perfect start of the day. Our first visit will be to a local market place Tapa where we will buy all the ingredients we will need for a super tasty dinner. Later on, we will be heading towards Daorson. These spectacular remains of the capital of the Hellenised Illyrian tribe of Daors date back from 300 to 50 BC .
The remains of this, once one of the most important, towns in the wider area offer an incredible view of the fertile Stolac valley. The amount of the feeling of solitude will make you believe as if you were the first man od modern time standing at the spot while, at the same time, watching the ancient history galloping in front of your eyes.
Minutes from Daorson we will be welcomed by another treasure trove of Bosnian History – Radimlja Necropolis. Radimlja is the richest and most treasured necropolis which is, most likely, dating back from the 14th century.
With a little help from a local expert, we will learn the story of Bosnian Stecak and enter the world of profound symbolism.
Once we are done at the two sites we will head to a local restaurant and have a tasty lunch and refreshments. Our next stop will be Rizvanbegovica House which used to be an administrative and cultural centre of the region of Herzegovina.
Ali-bey Rizvanbegović, the ruler of the region and captain of Stolac, decided to utilize God-given bliss and develop the local economy. That was a period when Stolac and “local California” experienced large-scale planting enterprise. Therefor, Stolac represented one of the most crucial spots of the development of all kinds since the 18th century.
The local ruling family of Rizvanbegović invested a lot of time and effort into the urban progress of Stolac.
We will meet the the home owners and have a coffee/ tea at their beautiful garden listening the stories of the golden era of Stolac and the house which was a main gathering place for every eminent artist of Yugoslavia.
Time goes fast when hanging out with interesting people and our next place should be a famous Makova Hiza. Makova Hiza was built in 2006 as a symbolic return of Mak Dizdar, one of the best poets in the region, to the city where he was born and grew up. The idea was primarily motivated by his own unfulfilled wish to spend the last years of his life in Stolac.
Not only are exhibits related to the life and work of Mak Dizdar presented at this place. It has also become a true home of science and art dedicated to stećak tombstones, medieval monoliths that have left such a deep mark on his work, and whose most famous specimens are in the immediate vicinity of Stolac. We will meet the founders, taste their famous lavender juice and have a chance to see the original works of Mak Dizdar.
Makova Hiza is a home of science and art, dedicated to life and work of Mak Dizdar, it promotes the amazingly diverse cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the afternoon, we will return to our accommodation and hang out with locals with whom we will be preparing the tasty dinner. Treasure of Herzegovinian recipes is endless and we will make sure you taste the best of the best.
Those of you who are not into a cooking class, will have a chance to spend some time at the amazing Pjene beach at River Bregava and enjoy swimming or fishing before dinner.
OPTION TO CONSIDER:
If you are into canyoning, FT team strongly recommends heading towards Istup Canyon.
It takes roughly an hour (20 min car ride + 45 min light hike) to the place from where you will start your canyoning journey. Every single spot and a place here deserves attention. Most importantly, location is still very unknown, there’s a very little chance to bump into anybody. So, prepare your swimming gear and dive into the most beautiful and untouched piece of Mother nature.
An abundance of crystal clear water, with specific emerald-green nuance, will provide a dose of the adrenalin that everybody needs. Besides that, this canyon shall spark the most positive kind of a thrill.
We will start a day with another tasty breakfast and slowly pack our luggage. Today we are heading towards Blagaj and, on the way, we will make sure to explore the unmissable and eye-catching roman trails of Herzegovina region. Our first stop will be Mogorjelo which is a unique archaeological monument from Roman times located near Capljina, in the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Mogorjelo is a cultural monument which is one of the most beautiful buildings of late ancient architecture in the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After Mogorjelo, we will head towards another treasure trove of Herzegovinian history- Pocitelj. This unique, medieval, Ottoman era glorified, present day Ottoman-Mediterranean style designed fortress – town Počitelj, is one of the very few urban ensembles in Bosnia and Herzegovina preserved in their integrity to the present times.
In the end of the walk we take some time for locally grown fresh lemonade or Bosnian coffee if you prefer.
Stunningly nested above Neretva river, visit to Počitelj (“Počivati” – Bos.”to rest in peace”), easy uphill, one hour long walking activity, accompanied with a stories of town’s development and strategic importance during its 600+ year long written history.
We will take a short break from the history abundance and jump into an amazing Kravica Falls. Situated near Ljubuški, Trebižat river with its travertine sedimentations is today offering us unique and breathtaking attraction. Height range from 26-28 meters and water amphitheater of 120 meters below, plus surrounding nature of Kravica waterfalls altogether fall into unique geological monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Kravica Falls can be said to be an open air waterfall museum where we will do a short boat ride and enjoy the spectacular waterfalls from close up.
Our last stop for a day, and a place where we will spend a night is Blagaj. Blagaj town is home to Buna river spring – Europe’s most beautiful, most powerful, clean and drinkable karst river spring, settled beneath few hundred meters high rock. Water comes out of quite large but stunningly deep cave, which springs amazing 43 cubic meters of water per second.
Once in Blagaj, we will do a check inn to our small guest house accommodation which was made with an idea to entirely preserve traditional Bosnian hospitality in every segment of hosting. For 400 years this family property was open to travelers. We will have a lunch with the family Velgagic and enjoy mystical energy, delicious homegrown food, and numerous stories, that this, oldest family in Blagaj, has to offer.
After lunch, we will head towards Blagaj Tekke and learning more about the mistery of Dervish life in Herzegovina as important part of our history is, MUST DO. For Muslim travellers “Tekija” is place where prayers are hosted 5 times a day and can be attended if wanted.
We will return in the later afternoon, and enjoy the rest of the evening next to the river and have a tasty barbecue for dinner.
Blagaj Tekke is a Dervish house, dating most likely pre or early Ottoman era from early 16th century. It is a unique sacral-residential example of Islamic architecture in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Good morning with a super tasty local breakfast after which we will say goodbye to our hosts in Blagaj and leave towards Livno. On the way, we will make sure to stop in Mostar. As soon as we arrive we will take a walking tour which will cover most important sites and locations in Mostar.
We will discover the Mostar’s Old Bridge – it’s rise and fall, and how it had risen again, Old Bazaar and Old Town, but offer stories of Mostar’s uniqueness, in regard to historical and cultural diversity. We will learn about Siege of Mostar, about why it is called Mostar, about “Mostarians”. We recreate Mostar for you and with you.
We will give you some free time to explore Mostar on your own and soak up the atmosphere of this charming capital of Herzegovina region.
After we finish with exploring Mostar, we will head towards stunning Rama Lake. However, on the way, we will make sure to make a stop in Jablanica where we shall try a famous lamb meat and learn how is it traditionally prepared. Jablanica is also known as a place where the famous WWII Neretva Battle was held so we will learn some intriguing stories along.
Eat like a king when in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Vegetarians and Vegans, nothing to worry about, we will make sure to arrange some delicates for everyone.
After we threat our taste buds with some tasty lunch, we will head towards Rama Lake. In its purity and beauty, Lake Rama is an ideal place for boat ride and swimming. The sight of Lake Rama seems unreal and ranks it among the most beautiful lakes in Europe. The most famous peninsula of Rama Lake is Scit where the Franciscan Monastery of Rama-Scit is located.
We will pay a visit to the isolated piece of heaven which has been built in 15th century and represents one of the most beautiful masterpieces of The Franciscans in BiH.
Our next stop and call for a day will be Livno, pearl of West Herzegovina Region characterized by continental climatic conditions, warm summers, and extremely windy and cold winters. We will do the check in to at the charming local guest house, have some rest and do some nice and easy walks in the old town.
Stroll through the Livno’s Old Town’s streets will make us feel as if we were in a time capsule. A lot of the streets and lanes preserved its authentic charm which will take you back to the 16th century. Generally in Bosnia, Old Towns are museums under the open sky.
Livno’s open museum doesn’t have “no touching” signs when it comes to artefacts, and no limited working hours.
Another, home made organic breakfast with amazing variety of tasty local products and we will be good to go for another adventure. Our first stop will be charming village Sturba. Enclosed in fifty dazzling shades of green, West Bosnia became a synonym for outdoor activities and healthy rural lifestyle.
Village Sturba will enable us to meet the small local community and discover this amazingly tranquil and friendly village. To spice up things, we will indulge into kayaking which will certainly provide a chance to get closer to the nature that you ever were. The interaction with the environment you will have while kayaking is simply fascinating.
While silently floating or gently paddling over the crystal clear river you will simply feel welcomed as a member of its amazing wildlife surrounding.
This whole activity of kayaking will make us pretty hungry and there is no better place to be than the one we are currently at in such case. West Bosnia is Mecca for production of organic food. Regional Products of West Bosnia are world wide known. Most importantly, West Bosnia is a pollution free zone! Another reason and most important one is, of course, nature’s potential. West Bosnia is known for its domed mountains, platforms and karst fields, which are perfect for cattle breeding. Weather is characteristic for strong winters and cool summers.
Never-mind if you are a meat lover or vegetarian you will find something tasty for yourself! This region is most well known for products like cheese, but also beef, veal and lamb. We will visit a local dairy farm, learn how is the famous “Livanjski sir” made from scratch and, most importantly, taste some of the best cheese products in the entire region.
Only few kilometres from Livno you will find a mt. Krug which is a home to hundreds majestic feral horses. Anyone who is into quad experience, let us know. This would be a definitely a once in a life time experience offering a unique combo of an absolute adrenaline rush and mesmerising moments of endless mt. slopes.
Our next stop and a perfect place for lunch will be a completely off the beaten path haven tucked away within clean, clear, and authentic surroundings only 30km from Jajce. Besides tasting some locally farmed trout that is “to die for” you will also witness the best-applied symbiosis of nature and man. We will certainly take this opportunity to indulge into intact nature as well as meeting the locals and tradition of crafts that “never betray”.
Janjske Otoke is a greenery kingdom of stunning cascades, streams, islets, small waterfalls, and amazing local people is simply awe inspiring.
Our last stop for a day will be Royal Town of Jajce and the only city in the world with a natural waterfall in its main centre. We will not spend a night at the centre however. We will find our charming wooden hut few kilometres further away. Peacefully nested at the stunning Pliva Lake, we will enjoy our time swimming, nice and easy walks and, in the evening, over dinner completely surrounded by intact nature.
With each step we make, we will make sure you are safe and protected. Charming and sanitised off the beaten path accommodation facilities are definitely something that brings this package to a whole another level of experience.
First part of the day, after breakfast, will be reserved for Jajce city which truly bears epithet “royal” as it has been the residence of the Bosnian Kings. It is World’s only city with natural waterfall in the city centre and birthplace of Yugoslavia, and in the same time in 1943 Jajce is birthplace of modern Yugoslavia. We will take the stroll through the city and enjoy absolutely fascinating combo of beautiful nature and complex history. We will meet the locals of Jajce and learn more about its historical significance.
Jajce Mills, famously called “Mlinčići” amongst locals have once represented main promotional material for postcards and tourist potential of Great Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy.
Our next stop will be Travnik, town rich with cultural and historical heritage and a place where we will check up one of the best preserved Ottoman forts in our country dating late XIV century, but present day look originating from Ottoman era.
Location just under the fort is home to stunningly beautiful springs of Plava Voda (“blue water”), place ideal for Bosnian coffee break.
Travnik is birthplace of Bosnian Nobel Prize winner Ivo Andric and we mustn’t forget and one of the most beautiful mosques in the region- Coloured Mosque. We will take a stroll through colourful open market of Travnik and try some of their tasty local products such as world famous Travnik sheep cheese, and few more things.
Coloured Mosque of Travnik got its name for beautiful and unusual art decorations inside and outside. This mosque represents one of the most beautiful mosques in the region.
Least, but definitely not the last, will be Visoko – Valley of Bosnian Pyramids and home to one of the best pottery artists in the region. Vahid and his beautiful wife Hava will welcome us at their home where we shall have a lunch made from the veggies raised in the oasis of their garden and greenhouse.
Lovely Hava is growing her own vegetables in a small greenhouse from where you will have a chance to pick up your own vegetables and help Hava in making a tasty home made lunch.
After a tasty lunch we will accompany Vahid to the nearby dense forest which is known to be a place where you can dig some of the finest clay in the region. After some nice and easy walks, we will indulge in the world of pottery and Vahid will teach us how to make our own pottery souvenir. We will wander around this working area and admire his ancient ceramic collection. This day will definitely rest our souls and, at the same time, teach us more on the importance of traditional arts and crafts.

On the way to Sarajevo we will enjoy a nice ride and amazing sceneries of Sarajevo suburbs and arrive safely to the city in the early afternoon. Short stop at stunning Springs of River Bosnia including a Roman Bridge nested in complete serenity of the forest. This will be a perfect closure of a day before we head back to our wooden hut at Olympic Mt. Trebevic and enjoy same tasty dinner and nice evening walks.
The nowadays Roman Bridge was built by Ottomans who were using stones and ruins from the ancient Roman bridge which used to connect the Romans with the village of Aquae Sulphurae at the time.
Free morning for some nice and easy walks or visiting Sarajevo old town for some shopping before we pick you up and drive to the Sarajevo International Airport.
